When to Clean and Replace: - Clean the filter cartridge whenever the filter pressure gauge increases by 8-10 PSI above the regular operating pressure, after an algae bloom, excessive debris, or a phosphate treatment, and after a particularly large bather load. - Replace the filter cartridge when the pressure gauge increases, the time between cleanings decreases, or there is damage to the element, such as permanent discoloration, torn pleats, or cracked end caps. Generally, replace every 1-2 years.
